The D is punched to much I think, and what is that burn? Not post hopefully cause there ain't no burn masks around it from a torch or somethin. What y'all think?

Nice find. I'm fairly new at this but I would say it's a Die chip. That coin also looks cleaned.
I have seen a lot of coins with the mashed "IN". The circular mark might be from a coin roll or it was somehow twirled in a machine.
Someone with more experience will answer.

What you are seeing is all after mint damage.. the flattening of the D mint mark as well as the beginning letters of the motto "In God We Trust" have all been caused my a rolling machine or vending machine flattening out the features of the coin..the flattening all follows the arc of the rolling machine pattern around the outter 1/4 of the coin.. the hole has been caused by a chemical being applied to the coin .. some type of acid that has eaten away at the surface and part of the interior core of the coin.. kind of neat.. but not a mint error coin..

the pros will tell you what you have ,the md bird heads on the back , still just 25 cents sorry ,keep it for a show and tell .
