I picked up some 64 Kennedy half dollars. A couple of them have shiny fields on the reverse to the immediate left and right, so I thought it was die polishing, but, there are some uniform indentations that made me wonder if Feeder Finger Damage was involved too. Here are some of the pics I took of one. I found it difficult to capture the intensity of the shiny fields, but, it's so profound, it almost looks proof like in that area.

I'm not sure but, all of the coins I've seen here that were attributed as Feeder Finger Damage had diagonal die gouges. They do look more like gouges to me rather than polishing scratches, though.

With that said, I don't have a thorough knowledge of all of the mechanical processes and don't know if feeder finger gouges must be diagonal compared to the design or not.
My intuitive guess is no.

I agree. These looks like die polishing lines.

I'm not clear on which area is being questioned. Is it the field adjacent to the wing feathers or the tone change beyond that area? Can someone put a PS arrow on it?

Feeder finger scrapes for sure. You can see it at both wings and large gouges in each.

Well, it appears there are arguments for both.

The reason I ruled out Feeder Finger Damage was it was not at an angle with the die. The wheat cents years ago had an issue with lines vertically on the dies thought was that it was a feeder finger issue. But the newer machines we see this in at an angle across the surface of the die: The line on this new coin is in the wrong direction. So this I see as die polishing.

Depends on how the dies are set coop. They come in various vertical locations on Morgan's.

And, coop, as always, thank you for your expertise. Also, this particular half that I photographed has the most gouging on it, but, there is still a lot of evidence of die polishing around both sides of the wings, on this, and, 3 or 4 of the other 64 half's I purchased. (They were from the same seller.)
