I bought this as part of a foreign lot that was caked in pvc several months ago and finally got around to soaking this coin in acetone. This one had a pretty thin film on it compared to several other coins in the lot. Anyone care to take a guess at a grade?

Are these scans? The coin looks nice, like an AU coin. But I think pics under different lighting will give us a better view of the coin's overall condition.

I would say EF-AU as the mark on the cheek would bring it down----but still a nice coin

An MS coin can be restored to MS state ... but you cannot get a coin and upgrade it using restorative practices.... Grade is established due to the amount of wear on the coin...

I agree with the camp of people that are in the high EF to AU range. Although the coin has a bit of a "cleaned" look to it right now ... perhaps that's just the lighting or the pics used were from a scan.... If this coin shows the way it's pictured I'd say hang onto it for awhile and let it turn a nice chocolate brown and it will be a very nice piece IMO.

There is wear in the hair and eyebrow, so AU, but the cleaning may take it down a notch.

The colour might be off a bit for me in the fields on both sides. Maybe the on coming light is at a very steep angle and gives back a bit of shine on the details in the middle.

At least high AU when looking at the eyelid which shows perfect and not a touch on it..

Hey Okie..we're hitting the same coins at the same time..
