So I have a 2006 Buffalo where the mint wrapper has separated. Is there a way to reseal the coin in the wrapper or am I better off putting the coin into a proper holder? Thanks for your time!

I'd move it to a new and better holder.
Actually, I would have done it as soon as I got it.

To me, the original wrapper is not very appealing, so I would find a nicer way to store and/or display it.

Coin belongs to my father-in-law. I've only recently been introduced to it (and the rest of his collection). I'll get a holder for it ASAP.... Thanks!

The Buffalo needs a new holder home, and that way you can enjoy it more and not worry about it coming out of the old packaging!

Out with the old ... in with the new.
No value in that old mint plastic.

Properly protected in an Air-Tite. Thanks for the advice! Any opinions on the copper spot on the Buffalo's back? From what I've read it's not a normal thing for a .9999 fine gold coin...

MUCH better. re:spot - not sure. If I had any gold I'd compare mine to yours. Was the OGP separated enough where the coin could have been removed (and possibly replaced)? Doesn't look like it from your photos but worth the question.

Celtic, no to the possible replacement question. The wrapper separated when I inventoried my in laws collection. Wish I could say the coin is mine. Hopefully that won't happen for a while longer.

if memory serves me right, these brown spots happens due to copper, forget how it gets all in there, but I have seen this even in pandas, it happens. That said, doesn't happen all the time and doesn't necessarily take away from the premium value of the coin. Not crazy about them but prefer them over milk spots on silver coins

I'd say that the spot kills the coin. Just go ahead and spend it. $50 is better than nothing. j/k
