In case anyone missed it in the original topic about my 1954-D IIB, I sent it to JC for pics and it is now officially the LDB3-1954D-001!

Plus, I have a whole page to myself.

It's not a huge deal but, I'm pretty stoked about it.

Thanks everyone!

What's really nice about this is that the coin was one that my wife's grandfather set aside along with other BIEs. I found what was left of his collection being very improperly stored (no one cared about it after they picked all the US silver out but, left some world silver ) and that's when I took a more proactive interest in coins.

Unfortunately, I never got to meet him as he passed nearly two decades ago. He was apparently a very interesting and intelligent man - engineer for General Dynamics, knew several languages, coin collector, horologist, jeweller, etc.

Anyway, something he set aside decades ago is now documented for millions and millions to see.

What do you mean not a big deal?!

You have contributed a gem of knowledge to the hobby that otherwise was unknown.

This is great - Congratulations!

That is way cool, congrats! Although I must say that I was a little unsure about Googling horologist...
