The hairlines are definitely on the coin. Definitely would have been a nice coin without the cleaning.

It would have surprised me if they weren't on the coin. You can see between the legend the beautiful original coin surface, remaining ouster and toning. In the fields you see the stripped version from the cleaning. I honestly think this was a high AU coin before the cleaning. I think it had some dark spots that someone tried vigoursly wiping them away as they are still slightly evident. Always break my heart to see coins like this and you wonder who would do it. I'd go with Paulsz in its current condition, ef40 cleaned. The reverse is far nicer.

Oh well paid 5$ on ebay or less... in time it will gain some toning. And to me with out a loop it still looks perfect.

The harsh cleaning on the obverse makes it's tough to grade accurately for me..
Let the toning do it's job hopefully..
