Love it when they come with the envelope, and even more so when they look like this. 1851 Large Cent, N-12 (so it says.) Actually R1, not R3-, despite the envelope and someone's wishful thinking. I haven't attributed it myself yet, but will do so later.

Thoughts on a grade? My grade is 8, same as the "VG" on the envelope, & really an above average 8.

I think you easily get F12 and I lean more to F15 with this one.

VG10 net as an EAC Grade, would probably go F12 at a TPG today.

Attributed the coin myself & with a few other EAC members & we think this is actually an N3 (1851/81) based on the Grellman numbers. The lines in the last 1 are still somewhat visible despite the later die state.
