I don't believe I've ever seen one this heavily countermarked. To the left it appears there's one "G" over another with about a 90° rotation between them, while to the right there's a "D" that aligns not at all with either of those other two. The reverse attests to the great force with which these letters were stamped, with the coin being actually slightly bent. It's hard to conceive of what purpose was being served by this overkill.

It never hurts to ask. Someone might have a list that includes those initials, although that type of maverick is often difficult to find information for.

Here's another I happened across today that I consider more purely a case of defacement than any sort of counterstamp, almost rather an attempt to cancel the coin, really.

Possibly, this was an attempt to make it a "token" ten cent piece? A number of counterstamped pieces exist, wherein the host coin was re-denominated, so to speak.

I believe that the alleged "facial die break" is actually the raised metal surface; this, a consequence of one of the reverse hammer blows.
