My grandpa willed me a coin collection about 20 years ago. This thing had literally thousands of coins and I have trouble identifying several of them. We found stuff from all over the world. The first one is completely unknown origin. First image is front and back. Second is a collection of 4 Japanese coins but unknown how old they are.

The bottom ones include two 17th century mon coins, and the bottom left (with the 11 waves) is a 4 mon denomination.

The upper right one is a modern 5 yen coin. It's difficult to see that date on your picture but it looks like year 52 (1977).

The upper left coin is similar but without the mint mark.

The first coin is a copy of a Spanish real. It is not a real coin: the legends are "fantasy".

Can you elaborate what you mean by that? How is a Spanish real a "fantasy". I don't get what you mean. Maybe provide a link or two to help me figure this out.
Rest in Peace

The term fantasy means the item was never made as shown. It might have incorrect dates, gibberish for legends, as your example illustrates, or may have absolutely no link to any previously made coin or token.

I identified the bottom as a replica of the Ferdinand and Isabella Spanish Real.

Thank you for all your help. My grandpa literally had thousands so I will likely post more to come.

Ok that would be awesome! One small thing--best practice is to have each coin on a separate thread. Also, bigger pics, with more light would make those of us with aging eyes better able to see. Looking forward to seeing more coins!
