Bought this today at the local coin show. The dealer had a special album that he hides from other dealers, he broke it out for me and all I can say is OMG! I could have spent a years pay on this guys Lincolns. Sadly, I could only afford a few of them. In my life, I've never seen a 1922D this fine, the pictures don't do it justice! The strike, the toning, the die state, and the overall quality really took me. For your viewing/grading pleasure: No joke here, when you tilt this the reverse puts on a SERIOUS light show of color:

Hey Thad, That is a beauty of an '22-D. The details are exceptionally sharp based on the examples I've seen of this date. I'll guess the color has mellowed enough to make it an RB coin. There are a very few tiny dark spots and some red toning spots. That looks like a fine scratch in the field above the date. I don't see any other problems. Unless it's been "doctored" in some way to enhance the color, I'd assume it's an original BU coin and deserves an MS-64RB. Are you going to upgrade the rest of your set to match this one in quality?

O_OI grade that one somewhere north of $300. 64RB at least, tremendous eye appeal and very close to Condition Census for the grade/color. The only thing that bothers me a little is the mottled appearance of the obverse coloration.

This coin looks even better in-hand, I gave it an MS65. It might go to PCGS. If you check ha.com auction prices for MS66-65 in this year, it will make you crap your pants. LOL

Now that is one of the most beautiful coins I have ever seen. This is why I wish that I was in a larger city that actually did coin shows. The closest places to go are 2 hours west or 5 hours north and with gas prices, I would end up spending most of my play money just driving back and forth. BadThad, you said this was just one of the coins you bought, what else did you get?

Digging up the past I see....thanks for the nice comments folks!
If anyone is interested, I have another 1922D in the for sale section that has amazing details too....but it's an AU. It has some nice similarities to this coin believe it or not.
