about 3 months ago I found a 1970 penny with a Denver mint mark. the mint mark on the penny was tilted to the right about 15 degrees off center. I thought this coin was special. showed a few guys at work the penny. I thought is was really cool. since then I've found many 1970(s) Denver mint pennies with the mint mark off by a few degrees. realize now these pennies are not so special. I think the people at the Denver mint must be cross eyed.
anyway this is what started me into collecting coins mostly pennies.

I see the cents of humor. Guess that's a newbie thing or an east coast thing. I've been calling a Lincoln Cent a penny since the day I could say penny without looking at the thing on the back that says ONE CENT. It's even in bold how could I be so silly. You know you guys made me laugh ~ not at you but with you.

I think we've all called them pennies. The English pound was divided and the smallest division is/was the penny, slang for pence I believe. All those former Englishmen naturally called our 1/100 coin (cent) a penny. Am I right?...
