jjoca,
Please use the CCF Free Image Optimizer to removed the blank space around the coin from your images.

Thanks everyone for weighing in! I will give it a soak in some acetone and see what happens. The Antler mark on the right definitely isn't glue or adhesive, I can run my finger nail over it, it is grooved in there. I will post a pic after I have let it soak for a day!

Whatever it is, it cannot be engraved because that would have exposed the zinc beneath the copper plating.

Struck through (which would press the plating into the impression) would be my guess if you can feel the depression.

If it is raised, it may have been heated, loosing the plating?
If it is incuse it maybe been squeezed against something?
But I don't see any reversed letters?
If the reverse desaign is altered/flatten it may have been hammered. If the reverse is normal, then I would suspect glue or something on the surface of the coin? Had to say, but it looks like it is PSD. How ever it was done.

If it is recessed due to strike though, then I'd think the devices that fall within it would not strike up as they appear to be.

If its a layer of adhesive, then an impression could be made of what ever it was giving an illusion of a strike though that's actually on top of the coins surface.

If turns out not to be an adhesive on the surface, I have an off the wall thought. But it comes with a Disclaimer. So I'll save it as an after thought. Would be nice to see the reverse as well. Thanks, Doug.

I think it could have been engraved, then re-plated. More than likely though it was pressed in. I agree it's probably PSD.

I am posting it tonight! Stay tuned! Nothing changed btw, still looks the same and there are no impressions on the back and it ffeels like an impression, definitely not adhesive.
