I'd go with AU-50 or AU-53. LIBERTY is not completely sharp but that is typical for 20-centers that have seen any circulation at all. I'd even go AU-55 but the fields seem to have quite a bit of friction compared to the protected areas around the stars and legends. The centers on both sides seem pretty bright but I don't see any obvious cleaning evidence so maybe it's just the lighting. I think you have a keeper!

the lighting definitely made me see things I didn't see with my loupe, heck I never even noticed the die crack on the Reverse until I looked at the pictures. Your grade is what I thought this one graded out to until I saw that turd in the NGC slab then I questioned my initial thought

I'd have to go with Choice AU on this; dipped at one time, but looks nice. Much luster left? I have one that is an overdipped AU58 with all the luster stripped off.

the luster looks very good on it on the places thats not covered with toning the lighting makes it look more washed out than it looks in hand

I would have said AU58 as well, however I can see what you are saying about the NGC you posted. Yours has much more detail and a better looking coin overall. I can't see how they can call that AU55...nice 20 center. I would say if the one NGC is AU55 yours is at least MS62! I need to look mine over and/or send them to NGC! LOL

Bryan the skin looks original in the pics. Is there an old cleaning evident? Ironic that you post this, I just PMed Prethen on the same coin a day or two ago. The one I looked at is in very similar detail as yours except cleaned. Prethen gave me sound advise.
I won't venture a grade as I am too new to the type to try. Nice coin.
They were asking $160 for the one I was looking at, how does this compare?

I don't even remember what I paid for this one, I don't even really remember where I got it from. As far as cleaning goes I do not see any sign of any type of cleaning but it may have been dipped some time in its life but it wasn't harshly cleaned or anything. I just can't believe someone paid over $300.00 for that coin in that NGC slab, because to me it is grossly overgraded

Your coin looks AU50-55 to me.Eagles toes are still sharp & clear, with only slight wear showing on his right talon.Clasp & stars are still strong.Very nice coin.

AU-55 to AU-58. There does seem to be too much going on in the fields to be MS, but overall the coin is a beauty. I would not doubt a minute that some TPG's would slab that coin as MS-62-63. Nice.

The die crack by U in United on reverse and the rim Cud at date on obverse gives this coin added character MS-63 Beauty!
