Not this time either Zinc rot. Copper plating split during minting, exposing zinc underneath.

Split Plating Doubling. Not a DDR. Also Split Plate Doubling is also very common on Zinc cents. No extra value and only worth 1 cents. Sorry, but it is what it is. Keep up the good hunting. :)

Check out this web page http://doubleddie.com/432422.html. Most of the known 1989 DDs are there. See if your coin has any of the listed die markers. A huge portion of the listed doubling is so subtle, you almost have to have a high powered microscope and look for the markers. I would focus on the "Liberty" and "God" on this coin. If there is anything there (hard to say from photos) it might be there. Keep on looking for them and have fun!

Bump not one of those DD I can see any doubling so I probably will never find a double die unless it's like the 1955 DDO

Research on doubleddie.com and varietyvista.com. Look up known varieties and look for those. 9 times out of 10, if you find something that isn't listed, it will probably be nothing. Keep looking man!
