I think this is the 001 mint mark on copper coins, but I'm not 100% sure. It also states something about MDS and LDS is there a way to tell the die state from these photos?
Thanks,
Mitch

I don't know if the die state matters with this - It is an RPM (Repunched Mint Mark) now it should have an RPM number you can look up. Try searching Wexlers Coins and Varieties for RPM's

It is 1954D-1MM-001. It is a North and South RPM, but the south doesn't show on this one. It is probably a MDS die.

Lower loop show on earlier die states.

I agree with RPM-001, but can not seem to find the page on coppercoins.

Thanks guys,
The north south thing they are referring to is the small line under the actual mint mark, right?

I think N/S means that there are actually two earlier MMs, one above and one below the predominant mark. You can see the north mark on your coin, but the south Mark may be worn away at the die state represented on your cent. You might see signs of it within the "D". The experts can correct me if needed.

Yes RPM 001, I see these listed as D/D/D - There are quite a few listed on ebay from $15 to $50. I'm thinking the ones for 50 aren't really selling that fast
