From what I saw on Saturday the coin collecting hobby is alive and well on the Saturday I attended.
I arrived minutes after show opening and the main parking lot was nearly full. As I entered I was greeted with the hub-bub of conversation throughout the hall. I made a preliminary circuit of the dealers, noting who might have what I wanted, taking note of inventories. I found a good mix of slabs, gold, bullion-both rounds and bars, US banknotes, and foreign.
I went with the main purpose of finding a $5 mexico gold for my type set. Also for a nice raw Texas half for a son's type set book. All the Texas were slabbed. There were a few $2 and $2.50 gold pieces, but I noted nothing higher.
Two dealers displayed some interesting Mexico. The first was mostly Mexico silver commems and rounds. The second showed promise but no $5.
He asked me what else I was looking for and I mentioned Mexico Revolution. He motioned for me to sit and pulled out a tray of flips and several loose coins. I ended up with 4 coins I had not thought of finding, 2 which I knew nothing about. I did have my tablet with me and I was able to do some price searching.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 hours at the show which was worth the 90 mile drive each way.
I'll post pics in the New Finds thread.

Sounds like you had a good day. It's always nice when you have something in mind to buy and you can find it! Not so sure about the 'extra' coins. I can get into trouble that way fast. But I always bring a little extra cash 'just for fun', in case stuff like that comes along. I hope the drive was nice.

Sounds like you had a good show. Nice that you found some coins you have been looking for. I have been working on a Mexico type set in a Dansco album. http://goccf.com/t/272301I am curious what you are using. Mine in the link, above, has had a few coins updated since that post. Traded the 20 Peso for a nice 1922/1 and some of the silver coins are also upgraded.

GR58 - My collection is in 2x2 paper flips in 3-ring binder pages. I am waiting for the arrival of my 1919 peso, the last one needed for my regular coinage set like yours. I'll photo and post the entire set when it comes.
Congratulations on your "completeness" I hpe you enjoy the upgrading.
I have been enjoying the 1914-1915 revolution issues, and picked up a couple earlier coins this weekend. Will post them soon.

It's always nice to see a coin show report that was attended here on CCF. The brain really kicks into high gear when doing that initial walk around doesn't it? Then it goes into overdrive trying to decide on what to go after before somebody else buys it. LOL A lot of coins can be behind the table. Most dealers ask you if there's anything you might be looking for. It pays to say more than "just looking, thank you" On the other hand if they pull something out from behind the scenes, try to contain yourself if it is just what you were after, or they know they will get top dollar from you. I love the art of haggling without getting a dealer perturbed.
