I must have got a deal then! I was at a coin shop the other day and a guy sold me the same thing, he said there were maybe about two or three like it in the world. I went home, checked ebay, saw this auction and went right back to the coin shop and got it for $10,000. My wife couldn't believe it when I showed her what I got! What a deal!

Ha ha, please, people, its so hard to know what to take seriously. Wheres your html skills? It should have been stated as thus.... [sarcasm]since bicentennial quarters are so rare[/sarcasm] bad joke maybe Awhile ago I saw a bicentennial quarter on ebay listed for MILLIONS of dollars. I was incredulous. I thought maybe the guy mistyped or something. It was a slabbed proof graded PF70. The guy justified the price saying there is online one recorded PF70 bicentennial quarter...ever. Don't know if that's true or not.

So, help me with the math... If the coin was found July 9, but was not due for release until August 18, how many days was the coin rare?
After 8/18/75, it became worth .25c! He is way late with this auction. Shoulda been trying to get his money in July 75. Now he's stuck with it!

ratio411...You spoke my thoughts exactly and it looks like someone went to a lot of trouble to get it verified!! I would like to see the history on this coin to see how many times its been sold and what the prices were, unless he was the original owner and he thought "Wow,im gonna retire on this baby"

The seller seems like a total idiot. You gotta love the fact that supposedly he has a 6-figure coin for sale but has no clue how to properly photograph it or display it. What a moron.

I think he's referring to the error being rare not the quarter itself

Yeah it looks like it was just posted in the last 12 hours, right when ebay has their max 50 cents insertation fee promo going for a week. Maybe I should post all my stuff for ridiculous prices to see if anything sells.
