One of my coin orientation PEI pennies has the die turned about 12 degrees. Is this very common? Also, does anyone know how common coin orientation is compared to medal orientation on this issue?
many thanks

Despite what Charlton says, medal orientation is very very rare on this coin. Really only seen on a minority of specimen pieces.

I tried to fix this with the 71st edition Charlton catalogue... I never did check to see if those edits actually made it through...

Charlton doesn't acknowledge lots of things that people send in, me included.

The die turned about 12 degrees.Does this mean that the reverse and the obverse do not line up?

Cheers and happy coinage

Yes, the obverse and reverse don't line up exactly - off by about 12 degrees. I don't know if this is common or not? Thanks SPP and Smallcent, I had checked charlton and thought their info seemed odd as I don't think I've ever seen medal orientation with this coin.
