It may be news to some collectors that naturally-toned coins with beautiful color are highly sought after by specialists.
Morgan dollars in particular can sell for fantastic prices if they have the right "look". As an example, here is an 1886
Morgan dollar that sold at the Heritage FUN (Florida United Numismatists) auction in 2006. It was graded MS65* (star) by NGC, who awarded the special star designation for exceptional eye appeal. Now, the 1886 Morgan is a common coin and generally sells for maybe $150 in NGC MS65. This beautiful coin cost the buyer $2,530, or about 16X the price of an ordinary brilliant coin. I remember one auction not too long ago where the final price for several common-date Morgans with great color exceeded $10,000!
