Noticed some green goo (which is probably why it was deeply discounted. Now I'm wondering if I should snip it out of the ICCS plastic and give it a xylene spa day and see if that green will come off or just leave it. Thoughts?
It's a Br#705 ICCS has it as VF-20.
thanks

It is a $25.00 token at best but not with that green spot. Also identified as LC-33C1 or LC-33C2
It is not one of the rare Lower Canada bouquet Sou tokens. Why it is in a graded ICCS holder surprises me as it is fairly common. So in or out it is still what it is. Your call.
It would drive me crazy though if it were mine. LOL

if you have a number of coppers in your collection you might want to look in to getting a bottle of verdi-care / verdi-gone. amazing stuff.

my only concern with the amount of dark toning is that you might end up with a brighter spot under the green compared to the current patina.

depending on what you paid (ie not much to loose) it might be worth trying to save

I would cut it out and conserve it. As already mentioned it isn't a big money coin so it will be bought or sold ungraded ... so why not take care of it while it's in your collection?

Yup, me too... take it out and use Verdi-Care on it.

I wouldn't hesitate to cut it out of the holder... and I'd much rather have a slightly brighter area than that highly distracting green spot!
