Besides listing it on ebay. What's the best place to try and sell a short snorter? I have one from WWII signed by several baseball Hall of Famers. Its a $2 note and authenticated by PSA

I'd love to see pics. Possibly ebay would be a good way to go. Unsure of where else besides a coin/sports memorabilia show?

Most excellent! Were all the signers in the military back in WWII? For a note of this caliber you may want to step up to an auction house such as HA. Also... to CCF!

I know Joe DiMaggio volunteered for the Army in World War Two, they sent him to Hawaii with a bunch of other baseball players and had him play exhibition matches to amuse the troops. He loafed around on the beach and got fat there after being rejected from transfer to a combat unit. Several other major league ball players where sent to play in the same exhibition matches by the Army, this note likely stems from around that time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_DiMaggio#Wartime

Welcome to CCF.
Nice short snorter and good that the signatures are authenticated. I hope it's in a good currency sleeve....looks like it might tear if handled much more than it already has.
What are you guessing it's worth?

Hope you don't have any trouble if you do go with a big auction house. Technically, it is illegal to write on money.

ron6788, no it is not illegal to write on money.
It is only illegal to deface money with intent to render it unfit for reissue, or to defraud.

This is not something that will get the profile it needs being listed on ebay, if you want to attract top dollar this should go to a major auction house.

We actually had some experts try and value it. They said its extremely difficult because its a one of a kind item.
No other short snorter exists with these signatures that they could find.
We tried Chrsties and they said since its not part of a collection they didnt want it.
We put it in a protective sleeve to protect it.
Here is the back story.
My mother in law (Australian) was visiting and said to my wife. Your father left this 2 dollar bill in a book in his drawer. IS it worth anything, It has all thsse signatures on it. We looked at it and said, Holy Smokes. I think that's Joe D'maggio.
We had it authenticated and it is true. Joe and some other greats played baseball in WW2 to entertain troops in Hawaii.
There is an article about a news reporter who was at the dinner when they were signed and loaned Joe a $2 bill. So we think this could be Joe's bill. But not 100% sure since no other snorter's exist.
We were thinking of donating it to the MLB Hall of Fame. but the problem is , without a proper appraisal, we cant get a tax write off.
We think its worth about 3-5K, but its just a guess. It's really only worth what someone is wiling to pay for it of course.
And yes, it requires a true fan. Someone who appreciates WW2, Baseball, and of course, US currency collecting.
Thanks to you all for your comments. I'll try some other auction houses and see what they think.
