This one has a better all around strike. Pics arent the best (seller provided) but what do you think? Appreciate all the help, and again sorry if the pictures arent good. They arent ones Ive taken myself.

This coin in the original post is pretty nice, I like the purple haze.  Just for reference, here is what a well-struck MS64 1866 Shield nickel looks like.

Here is an MS62 example. I don't own these, just picked them out of the HA website. This is what I would be shooting for. Good luck!

For my posted coin, what would be a fair price to go for? I'm going to see if I can purchase it. 400 too much? Banking that in hand it looks a bit better

I think the ms62 example I posted sold for $350 at auction on HA. Stacks also has attractive examples. I bought a nice ms62 at Stacks for $265 but it wasn't as nicely struck as the example I posted above. Close though.... actually I looked at that coin again and the reverse wasn't well struck up.
For $400 I would hold out for something close to the MS62 example I posted a few posts up.
