One of my favorite coins..guess why .. variety attribution anyone? Have fun grading this one! It's really nice in hand and has good luster and color..and not a single noticeable Mark or issue..quite nice for the grade I would say.. Feel free to call me Will.

Quote: I'm gonna guess SP-65 Can't be an SP.. All SP's have a normal 9 and a very exact raised wire cheek marker. Any chance of adding a very sharp obv photo of the above.. ...So far I still can't see any rubs on the high spots..must be a great one..

are you referring to a high 9 variety?

The nine is slightly higher than the other numerals, but I don't think it'll grade as a 'high 9'.
Tough one to grade from the pic.
At first I'm leaning towards MS, but I'll drop it a little and say AU58.
As a sidenote, does anyone have the POp numbers on the high 9 for MS grades?
I have an ms64 red ICCS 1929 high 9 and would like to know.
Sorry for the diversion from the OP's topic.

Well as far as it not being high enough..I believe that's thanks to the photos and shadow under the numerals as it is from the same reverse die of attributed examples such as SPP's and C-V's examples which have been posted here and recognized as true high 9s..I did a lot of overlapping photos of other pieces with this one before buying it and it matched perfectly

ICCS doesn't differentiate between low, med, or high 9's in their population report.

Is it just me or does anybody else feel that a 48 hour range for these 'guess the grade' exercises should be the norm and anytime beyond that makes the audience lose interest.

I'll say AU55. Nice coin.
... and (doubleeagle59) I disagree with the 48 window for posts on grading. There's always time to bring up old discussions and revisit conclusions.

Wow nobody has gotten close to the grade yet..I guess that can be expected considering these pictures definitely don't do the coin Justice! I will post the results once it is back in my possession currently getting attributed at ICCS.. It should have been back by last torex but hey what can you do.
