Almost passed out when I found this in a folder at a garage sale combined with the 1907 IHC I posted earlier and a 1857 Type of 1856 Flying Eagle cent along with others.... the folder was $75.00. I'm certainly getting this one slabbed.

I'm at at a very choice VG10, but would pay Fine money because it is so problem-free. Lots of unattractive pieces in this grade range, which this one isn't. Poster child for a problem-free coin. Not only did you find a key date in a set, but also found a really nice one at that. Congratulations!

If I recall correctly, 1877 IHC's in general were weakly struck. Because of that and the fact that it's a key date they tend to get a slightly higher grade than they first appear.

Oh, wow!! I'm jelly. Super solid with ZERO distractions or problems. Yes, I just shouted ZERO...... twice. I still need one. That will truly be the find of a lifetime!!
