Bought today at melt. With a recorded mintage of only 48,000 you have to wonder how many are extant after over two centuries. In any case, does this specimen make VG?

VG detail or close - most would call VG - good rim area... though the chin/front of face sort of melding into the field hurts some, plus the scattered ticks/old scratches. Not an awful piece.

Melt?! Considering he essentially gave you that piece (!)... you need to hit that shop hard. Dig through every tub, bin, box and binder!
