Happy New Year's Coin Community!

I would like to ask about my recent acquisition late last year of a 1878-S Trade dollar that has been turned into a pin, and in particular, its genuinity.

Below are some reasons I think it is genuine and why I think it is not:
Why I think it is genuine:
>Details and variety (type 2 obv & reverse) all match, wear even, and cleaned, as expected of most coins-turned-jewelry
>A similar piece could not be found on *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word or phrase obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. ***, or anywhere else on the Internet
Why I think it is not genuine:
>many fake coins are turned into jewelry or other items to hide the fact they're fake
>Suspicious raised areas on the obverse that do not appear to be solder (they seem like the surface of the coin itself lifted up to form bubbles)

What do you guys think?

These are often attributed to overheating the coin, which seems like a distinct possibility if someone is brazing on a pin mount. Of course, it seems reasonable that this effect would occur regardless of whether the "coin" was made in San Francisco or Shenzhen...

Nothing jumps out at me that would indicate the coin not being genuine....
Rest in Peace

Hey, is "genuinity" a real word? I kind of like it.

Now only jewelry (silver) value, unfortunately.

Someone who loves Trade dollars and appreciates it is as a jewelry piece as well, may value it with a small premium.

Why not? We could put it with "Detail-orientated"
