Using my new microscope and CherryPicker's Guide, which I got for Christmas, I was able to attribute this 1957 Proof
Franklin half as CONECA:DDR-004 !
Its on the PCGS Coinfacts website as TDR FS-801
http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/396185I went into this coin/jewelry shop with my grandma about a year ago and purchased two coins. A 1957 Franklin proof and VG barber half. I don't know why I bought anything there because the guy was a complete jerk--- just worried about gold and silver prices. He knew I wasn't going to spend a lot so he just ignored me. Another customer came in and they just gabbed and gabbed. When I went to ask him how much a specific coin was, he sighed, told me the price, and then continued talking to the other customer as if I wasn't there. I bought the two coins and quickly got out of there. I shouldn't have given him my business as a matter of principle;however, I am glad I did. I paid 30 for the both of them.
This is my first proof variety find ever and my first coin find of 2018. It also was the most expensive coin in my collection until I acquired the 1922 Grant Half with star.
I am now checking all my other coins to see if I missed anything!
I took this closeup photo using the microscope, unfortunately I can't zoom out to see the whole coin so I will post photos taken with my phone camera

Here is a zoomed in photo from the PCGS website
