a buddy got this coin in change last week. sorry my pix aren't great, but I wasn't expecting to be on a coin forum where I could post them. soon i'm going back over to get better ones with the macro lens stuff & will post better pix here.

i was reading an earlier post about a clipped coin with 'blakesly effect', which I never knew about til I read that post.

as stated, not great pix, but i'll get better ones. at least you can see the clipped part.

the rounded clip is smooth on the fingertips. when my buddy put this in my hand I immediately felt the clipped part on my fingers as I was trying to pluck my glasses from the top of my head & stick 'em on my face with the other hand (yes, a true coingeek moment), wondering at the same time what he just put in my hand.

It looks like the real deal - to me. However I am not one of the experts.

I do not see the expected weakness at the rim - on the opposite side of the coin...

See the flat rim by BUS and coat? That's Blakesly. Not enough cross pressure to fill in devices opposite completely. Nice to find a silver nick in change even!
