1964-D Washington Quarter, Die Cracks Rev, 'Spitting Eagle'?

MrPink2018 Pillar of the Community United States 2470 Posts	Posted 01/15/2018 9:40 pm the die cracks run along the length edge of the eagle's right wing, from the bottom it actually starts in the letters QUA, up the eagles wing, it splits in two, both of those run all the way up to the curved part of the wing and kind of vanish there, but there's also a crack with minor breaks on both sides of eagle's head and through eagle's face, the tiny break/s at eagle beak appear to give it the 'spitting eagle' look. cool. Eagles2019 New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 05/15/2019 1:52 pm I have found five different spitting Eagles in the past couple months each one a different year. Yesterday I found a 1964 GB spreading eagle. I searched ebay I searched YouTube and there was no record of this die break. Today I looked on the forum and there it was. Now the angle of my break is not the same as the one mentioned in this article. I believe someone mentioned that this is a fairly common error. I assume the furring to the spitting eagle in general. And I've also noticed that every one of my speeding Eagles has a different angle than the pictures I've seen on ebay or YouTube. The quarter is almost uncirculated. I would appreciate any feedback on the quarter and opinions on getting it graded and slapped. Report this Post to the Staff

Eagles2019 New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 05/16/2019 1:05 pm You're right it's a die clash it's a spitting eagle I'm sorry my terminology was wrong but my point is the 1964 is a very rare die clash but it's definitely not a scratch 1991 was a popular year for them as well as 1988 I believe I have about seven different years of speeding Eagles I also have the Delaware State Quarter speeding horse. From cherry picking. There's even a spitting eagle Morgan dollar. Thanks for the correction.
