You really wonder, just when do coins like this re-enter circulation. The 40's, or 80's, or 2000's? who really knows? True wear would have culled that long ago. Just like what sits in many collections today, coins with legitimate wear pulled in the 50's were AG/G's by then, this is 70 years more. Yea, put that one to copper rest!

It deserves better than tossed into a common box. I'd get that one in an aluminum ring and keep it as a pocket piece. It has to have some serious good luck.

Sometimes coin are stolen and put back into circulation. Sometimes a collector passes away and they get rid of the change in a coin star. That is probably what will happen to the ones we have collected. I'm the only one in the family that is really interested in coins.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles. Why Topic Titles are ImportantThe title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar.... - Horrendous: Help!
- Bad: Need help with coin
- Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar
- Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar
- Awesome: Need help with V
AM on 1896 Morgan Dollar
This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.
