I bought this one on ebay for 3.65 and the shipping was 3.99, but it was well worth it since I love Die Chips! This is the biggest one I've ever seen on a Dime! The Philadelphia mint mark almost got nearly chipped away from that huge Die Chip! I will nickname this Dime "Turkey Neck". This is what you call an oddball error. Here's the link to the item if you want to see the ebay listing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/STRUCK-IN-...p=true&rt=nc

Thank you Bluedogcards! I bought it because it looked very cool and I've never seen a Die Chip that big before on a Dime. Luckily, I got a good deal on it. Definitely a nice addition to my collection.

Thank you Mark! This one caught my attention since it was huge. The obverse die was pretty far gone at this point, when it struck this Dime. The reverse is also in a Very Late Die State as well. The P mint mark looks like it's going to chip away within the next strike.

If it did you will still know it's not a Denver as long as you have this one.

Haha! That's true. I find this Die Chip very satisfying to look at, since it's so unusual in size.

Uh-oh! E&V is venturing away from the Lincolns.

It is a nice huge one. Someday someone may very well post one with a larger chip and say it's too bad they'll never know where it was made. Then you can let them know. lol

Sometimes, I do when wanting a error on a different denomination. I will be back to Lincoln cents shortly though.

Haha, it might happen someday. It would be pretty funny! Then I would come to the rescue and tell them it was from the Philadelphia mint.

TNG, I showed this one to my dad and he said it looks like Roosevelt has a "Turkey Neck".

I found another thread with a similar Die Chip, but it is a lot smaller than mine. Here's the link to the smaller one. http://goccf.com/t/116448

Pretty neat, it may be possible that the other one shown here http://goccf.com/t/312230#2652425
could be a progression, your where the chip is getting larger. It would take some study, which I did not take the time to do. People do collect progression sets.
