My mom just broguh home a 1941 and a 1943 Jefferson nickel. The 1943 has a P up top and what I think might be a lamination error. Let me know what you think.

Not thinking lamination, more likely those marks are from a knife cut or other metal object

You have a 1943-P War Nickel (35% silver) with damage. That is most definitely not a lamination error. Here are a few closeup pics of a 1944-P nickel with a lamination flaw:

Ah man o well, at least it's a cool old nickel. Thanks for those pics. I wanted to put up one more pic of something.

At first I thought it might be something cool like a misplaced mint mark, but it's too small. It's cool that it retained it's character while everything around it got faded out. Also kinda cool part of the "O" in Monticello is missing.

This Nickel looks like it's got a cool story behind it.

@S&S, I agree that your War Nickel has been damaged, but has a cool story to tell. Definitely worth saving!

Your nickel has a story to tell, but it would say: "I got beat up." PSD (Post-Strike-Damage)
