I came across the following coin and I don't really know what to make of it. Any thoughts? Is is possible for a mint mark to be this far off? Can't find anything on the web so I'd appreciate any feedback on it.

Looks like part of the 0 was pushed aside by fingers of a coin rolling machine. I believe its just PMD.

Just damaged. On some cents the mint mark can be off enough to touch the date but I do not know of any being that far off.

Thanks for the responses! Love this site, first time posting.

Just seemed strange to me that there's no indentation/scratch mark/'plow' mark to show pushing onto the digit. I suppose a flat strike could do it but the 'D-bar' (for lack of a better term) isn't the same width of the '0' line and it appears straight, also, whatever hit it actually created another negative space (the inside of what would be a 'D').

I know you gentleman know what you're talking about but just curious, would anyone know of any other indicators on a cent like this that would identify the mint other then the mint mark itself?

Probably damaged in a vending machine. The old gumball machines were used at that time. (I know, I lived during that time)
