My parents hoarded coins (kennedy halves, Ike dollars, susan b anthony, and various old coins) and $2 bills. My mother gave me the hoard in 2008 when I officially started collecting. Today, I took $257 in $2 bills and Kennedy halves and deposited it into my checking account. I can use the money to buy coins I actually want. The Ike dollars i'll hold on to for awhile but I don't know why. But what do I do with the 2 rolls of junk silver? I have a roll of junk silver quarters and a mixed roll of junk silver dimes and nickles. I could throw it into my tub of change but since the coins are silver I know they're worth more than face value. I'm not fortunate enough to live near a coin store. I want to get rid of them because I'm tired of holding on to stuff I don't really want.

Easy to sell junk silver on ebay for close to melt value.

Probably the simplest solution.

The silver nickles would be WW II issues, some collectors might show an interest. As a military vet myself, Vietnam era, some Vets can have a sentimental feeling for Historic War issues, exclusively.. The war nickle has the mint mark over the Mont, reverse, 40 % silver..

Just put them away until the price of silver goes up.

thanks. I'll give ebay a try. I'll probably sell the coins and the coin holders as a lot. I'll double check to make sure there is nothing I want for my own personal collection.

I've sold lots of silver through Craigslist. No fees. Just be sure to mention in listing that exchange will take place in a well lit public place (like the police station). I've used ebay also.

and they will be easy to sell, if you price them right. Once you look through them and make sure they are all common dates. ebay or Craigslist would work fine.

Get your posts up in this online community. Then list what you have for sale and what you desire. Maybe someone will want to trade or by your junk silver on here. You are definitely reaching your target market in this community.

Did you check the Kennedy halves for any silver before you deposited them? KK

You could melt them all down and make bullets out of them. Then sell to a guy with a mask and a white horse and Indian companion. Or make Silver bullets to hunt Warewolves. Not sure if they work on Vampires though so be careful. Unless you really need the money right now, just stick around here adding up your posts so you can sell here. Safest place and best deals.

I double checked the halves for silver before I turned them in. I'm not worried about money but I've held onto this junk for 10 years and I do absolutely nothing with it. The coins in my collction I tend to pull out periodically and look at them and think about how to store them. The junk just sits there and takes up space. maybe that'll be my weekend project...list junk silver on ebay. I got a bunch of stuff I wanna get rid of.
