Someone is selling these "error" Lincoln Cents on the Internet. Are they worth buying? He's asking $8 for all of them.

Thanks!

Mostly problem coins. Circulated, die chipped and MD on the 1958, The 1960-D Cent with the die chip on the 'R' is a RPM. Looks like 002, just guessing.

Several of these are damaged rather than mint errors. I honestly don't know the going price on LWCs with die chips, but they are common enough that $8 must be overpriced.

Personally, I would not pay $8 for them.

OK, figured as much. He says the 1954 is "cupped" and it's difficult to photograph the error. However, I'm assuming it might just be post-mint damage of some sort.

Thanks for the replies!

I'd take them if he gave me $8 for each, but I'm not gonna
pay for anything but the rpm.

It shows Die Deterioration in the form of a "ridge" around the perimeter. That's not an error and is common.

I agree with the others that several are plain damage and the others, like small die chips, are not worth the asking price taking into consideration what years the coins are. I'm not in the market to purchase RPMs, so I don't know about that one.

The only coin I think is worth buying if it's cheap enough and not overpriced is that 1960 D RPM (Repunched Mintmark). All the others are not worth buying since Machine Doubling and Die Chips are very common on these 1950's Wheat cents. Machine Doubling doesn't carry any extra value since it's a very common issue that happens almost all the time. The one showing Post Mint Damage is not worth buying in my opinion etheir since it doesn't increase the value. You can do whatever you want with your money since it's not mine. This is my opinion on this. I'm glad you made this thread too.
