Hello, I came across this 1943P while inspecting my change and it looked different than other War Nickels I own. I noticed the green corrosion on the observe which I've not come across yet, but the reverse has much more to offer imo.

the top of the reverse seems to have copper showing to the left of the dome on the building. The letters C S? which appear green in my photo. Other noticable things are the mint mark seems to have been struck multiple times at different angles and lettering to the right of the done that should not be there (pmd?).

The bottom of the reverse has what seems to be double lettering in United States of America as well as other odd things.

Did I stumble across something special here, I'd love to hear your opinions!!

No... it's 35% silver 56% copper and 9% manganese

Much appreciated, I know not to clean coins, but I figured run it under some warm water and a gentle rub after your reply. I like the raised (letter?) on Jefferson's head I didn't see initially and the small C that appeared on the top of the reverse next to E.

Even if it isn't more than a V nickel, PMDs are still neat at times. Here's after a quick warm rinse.

Simply put: an old worn coin with heavy environmental damage, dings and scratches. And Tanman is spot on, on the composition.

And to CCF.

@RC, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes your War Nickel has been damaged. It is still worth saving in a 2x2.
