I am Not sure but can anyone tell if this is an error from production or if something else is going on with this penny.

Any Advice is appreciated.

If clearer pictures are needed please let me know. Or different angles.
Thanks All!!

@1337marie, your pics are good enough for us to see what has happened. Your cent has damage that occurred after this coin left the mint. It is visible on both sides of the coin. It is interesting to look at so save the coin if you want, but it has lost its numismatic value due to the damage.

It's Post Mint Damage. Looks like it got squeezed by a vise grip or something like that. This Wheat cent is now a cull coin and has lost all of its numismatic value.

Yep, PMD. The pattern on the obverse is interesting. It looks to be an impression from something scalloped and round...smaller than a cent....

I would say a bottle cap, but that's pretty small. Anyone know of a bottle cap that small on anything?

Edit: maybe one of these? They are 12mm:

It maybe a spline they use in woodworking to join two pieces of wood together. They may have bent it and used it on the coin. It looks like corragated roofing, but small. I haven't seen that in years.

I believe it will help, but don't be afraid to ask. Even trying to figure out what caused the PMD can be fun.
