coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/01/2018 8:28 pm Partially correct. A fin created by a tilted die when the the coin was struck. The space between the tilted die and the collar allows metal to make this fin. The fin get flattened and leaves the rim looking like your coin. If your coin had the fin, then it would be a collectable. Probably 99% of the fin get flatten in rolling or circulation removing a premium for them. Report this Post to the Staff
