What do you think of the grade and condition of this 1914-D quarter eagle? Any special considerations for storing a coin like this over the long term? I'll appreciate all feedback - thanks!

Light wear puts it somewhere in the AU range. A few hits and scratches but nothing that qualifies as a problem.

Not worth paying a fee to have it graded IMO. A Cointains holder would provide good protection. I like the plastic Eagle holders as well.

I think too much wear on the headdress for AU, I'd say XF-45. Gold is pretty inert, so any holder that protects the surfaces from scratches would work fine. No need to worry about toning.
