@Earl, were those pictures you posted of the coin I posted at the beginning of my thread?

REVISEDThey were my pics...but I took them down. I apologize b/c I did not read carefully enough to see the OP's coin is a 1972 Denver. Mine are all Philly coins. I deleted them to prevent future confusion by those who might stumble onto this thread.

Earle42- You're probably right. From where I sit it's just getting to far down into the minutiae. When you need arrows or a scanning electron microscope to see Doubled Die, well....you get my point. If I can see the DDO without a magnifying glass, I know I have one.

I apologize for the confusion. I still beleive this 1972-D is a "micro DDO," I did not save the ones that were not typically obvious varieties when I was roll searching. Here is a list of the DDOs and DDRs for that year. None of the 72-Ds are as obvious as the main 72-P: http://varietyvista.com/Variety%20M....htm#_1972-D

When I was roll searching, it was only the 1977-D that was harder to find than the 1972. But I remember when I used to post on the coin roll hunting thread that one of our members said he did not have near as hard of a time finding the good 72s. Out of 189 bozes I also got two good 1972 DDOs and two "micro-DDOs"of same year, four 73-D, and seven 74-D. Oh - 71-D... found doubling on an awful lot of them and quit saving them. They are not "good" as the 72 and 74-D. Quote:

And it will, trust me! My whole family heard me! Finding that first major DDO (a nice condition 74-D) was a moment I won't soon forget.

We should start a Kennedy DDO thread (if there isn't one already here somewhere) of "significant" (visible with the naked eye, not some micro stuff!) DDO's you have found in circulation. I have a handful I can post.

Sounds good but other oddities would be nice to include also such as good clashes and, well, I need a magnifier, but I like RPMs. I have quite a few I could post also. It might prompt me to play with the lighting so I can try to take better pics of some of them than my current ones .

I'm not sure if there is a thread out there on this already, I haven't checked...to lazy.
