Again, I am having a difficult time getting the details of my pictures right.

This appears to be a 1986 D DDO. I only took this one photo in hopes that you all can tell me if it is worth taking more.

Thank you again.

Linda

Again you are looking at the edges of the devices. You need to look at the centers of the devices. You look for spread there, not on the edges for marks. On the new cents look for devices that look distorted like bike inner tubes that area over inflated:
Here is a normal coin:

See if you can spot doubling on these other images:

What catches your eye first? The edges if the devices, or the center of the devices? Note the spread in the center of the devices?

Stop looking at the outside edges of the devices. all you will find there is MD and Die Deterioration. Does this work for other devices:

You just have to change your focus area. Stop looking for something that is not there. Look at the centers to find what is there. Hope this helps. So Spread is the word. Forget looking at the sides of devices. Because now you will know, what you will find there.

Bottom part of the D looks like a bit of split plating

Heavy Die Deterioration with Die Deterioration Doubling. This is very common and is part of normal wear and tear on the die. The mint mark also has Split Plate Doubling, which is also another worthless form of doubling. Worth face value. http://www.error-ref.com/split-plate-doubling/ http://www.error-ref.com/die-deteri...on-doubling/
Errers and Varietys.

Thanks to everyone, especially coop. Your examples are wonderful. I put a lot of 2015 and 2016 pennies aside because they all seemed to show and there was no way I could find that many doubles in so brief a time. (3 rolls of each year) I am going to go through them again as many of them looked like your examples. It will make for good practice for me and I will be seeking your knowledge shortly to hopefully confirm I found one.

This forum is awesome. I am impressed with all the friendly help and encouragement.

Lmhatt OMG please don't, not with the 15's and 16's. I swear 93 percent of the 2016's I look at appear somewhat doubled, like Super Cooper mentioned, inflated inner tubes... Anyone else notice this yet? Catching similar results on the 2018's. As for those 2015's, well, let's just say that that was my first. Every time I look at them it takes me on a whimsical trip down memory lane, it was a simpler way of life back then.
