This caught my attention because of the color. Upon closer inspection, I noted that the detail was crisp for the most part, with only a bit of softness on the lower obverse lettering and date. The reverse is also quite sharp, and displays the same coloration. The edge is copper colored. There is a faint fine mottling effect overall, especially on FDR. No scratches or dings are present. My only guess is that it was spray painted, and done reasonably well. Does anyone know what else this might be?

First, welcome to CCF. Second, yes pics would help us to figure out if it is toning, plating stipped, re-plating, paint, etc.

I don't have the capability to shoot the coin in high enough resolution. I'll take some paint remover to it and report back. I just figured if this was a common oddball coin, I'd have a quick answer.
