Have had this penny in my collection for a while just thought I would keep it because of how interesting it looks but can anyone help me on what happened to it or is it an errored coin ? Thanks in advanced

That's not peeling. That's a sticky stain from the coin most likely being in a cup holder. Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Worth face value.

I was told to put it in aseton to see if anything will peel off but stayed exactly the same

It's still a stain. I think the reason why it didn't come off is because the stain is now permanently stuck on your coin. It has probably been on there for a long time.

@clarapedrero1989, yes there is something that was added to this coin's surface which is now peeling. This cent is safe to spend.
