I found this 1955 Wheat penny for that has been sitting on my parents bar in a bottle since the 1970s. To me it looks like there is doubling on the date and all of the lettering but I am however new to all this so there is a good chance I am mistaken. If you could have a look and give me some expert opinion on it I would be greatly appreciated. Just taking a shot in the dark. Thanks

It doesn't look like it from where I sit. Can you take a closer picture?

I increased the size of your picture.
Don't see any doubling, just a plain 55 cent.

You need clearer photos to make sure but I don't think yours is that famous Doubled.

No, it's not a Doubled Die Obverse. It's called a "Poorman's Doubled Die", but it's not actually a Doubled Die. It's just Die Deterioration Doubling from a worn die. This was a replacement coin for the famous 1955 Lincoln Wheat cent Doubled Die Obverse. http://www.error-ref.com/die-deteri...on-doubling/
