This is one of the varieties where the legend is almost similar on both sides. The crown has a point on both sides, as well as in the legend.

Quote: The jeton refers to a movement towards religious liberty in Aachen, Germany. This event is considered as important during the 30 years war; So many interesting historical references in your jetons. I think you've pointed out elsewhere that the designers/makers of these had much more freedom of form and content than we see in coins. Thanks for sharing them.

Quote: Thank you @tdz for helping me learn something today!
You're welcome. My involvement with the forum starting a year and a half ago really ignited MY learning a lot more about the areas I collect. So I have you and all the other contributors here to thank, many times over for that

indeed, it is nice to learn from the posts and collections of other CCF members ! more non-siggi-copper with avian dimensions: a 1612 jeton from France figuring a bird of paradise lifting its young into the skies (pity that this part is a bit worn) - alike to what Louis XIII, Roi de France, did all the time: promote the prosperity and learnedness of his own people MEOS AD SIDERA TOLLO (I lift mine towards the stars) COELESTIA DONA MINISTRO (heavenly presents I bring)

Here is a 1/24 Thaler from the German City State of Saxony (vicariat issue) dated AD 1612.

Unless @giedrius has a contribution for 1612 (and he may be asleep by now), we will have a sans-Siggy-Sunday. Tomorrow we embark on the next two dozen years of his reign. Great stuff today. @petrus, I did not know there was a Brabant escalin with a peacock ... now on my list. Nice to see sicily, Spain too. Why no UK coins
