@CA, Roman coins aren't really my thing, but I wonder about the coin near the bottom right corner that has some sort of starburst on the rev. Is that common--I don't recall seeing that on a Roman coin before, but again, I'm speaking out of ignorance on this.

I know nothing of them either, but that starburt one caught my eye as something I have never seen. Again, In know nothing of these at all.
BTW - what is the one with Romulus and Remus under the she-wolf? How much do these normally cost? I would like to try to find one sometime just for the historical icon.

Nothing jumps out at me, but I must say the prevalence of two toned sand cameo is beautiful on most of those. Too bad you can't sell here yet

I see several nice coins in this group. If I were collecting Roman coins again this would be a lot I would buy.

Great looking lot. Congrats. The Arcadius, with the hand coming down from above, holding a wreath over the emperor's head on the obverse, is an especially cool type, imo.
Not much cleaning needed overall. These should be fun to i.d. Enjoy!

Lovely Macrinus provincial, and that might be his son Diadumenian one column over at the bottom. Some good Helenas, an alright Flaccilla, and a really nice, large Arcadius with a Manus Dei above - hopefully that one cleans well!
The coin with the ground away reverse I think might have been used as a gaming piece. I have seen similar markings on coins described as such.

These don't look like an applied "desert" patina to anyone else?

Quote: but that starburt one caught my eye as something I have never seen Funnily, it caught my eye as something I have seen before (though apparently the example I was thinking of wasn't that similar). Other than that... many nice coins that I would have been proud to own, not enough of an expert to say if any are scarce. How much did the lot cost?

I see plenty of coins to attract my notice Macrinus being one of many For the right price I would throw a bid !
Personally I prefer the "applied" patinas ........ Much easier to get rid of it !
