I collect Poland, but not modern issues. I probably should look into this series, as my grandmother was from Lodz but emigrated long before WWII), and these are probably the only coins associated with this city.

I see what you mean. The relation between the border of the star and the letters GETT is wrong, the lettering style reverse is wrong, etc., etc.

It's hard to believe that people want to buy it! 1 mark coin never existed, so "1 mark coin error" is also a fancy product.

Omg, $83 for a worthless item. It is not surprising that crooks do not diminish when they have a demand for their products.

All made in China.

ebay 332824170690
ebay 253904957330
ebay 253904957336
ebay 332824170039

Second "coin" is funny, because Chinese made a new forgery of the coin which was already a forgery.

ebay 113553552266.

"partially melted by exposure to extreme heat; likely due to WW2 bombing."

Contemporary forgery in the heat of World War 2. Genius :)

It's not easy to answer your question. ebay is the worst place, especially if you won't be able to return coin to seller. Many auction houses also sell fakes. But only a few withdraw counterfeits after my notification. I cooperate in the subject of Lodz Ghetto money with big numismatic dealer from Poland and I'm also an author of books but I'm not going to advertise me or anyone else. I think the best you can do is ask before you are going to buy any coin from Litzmannstadt Ghetto. Best wishes. Jacek.

What do you think about this German trader?

I have met him personally several years ago and he seems to be very knowledgeable about these coins.
