Poll Question
Two Trade dollars. Both are straight graded slabbed. I like my coins in an album so going to crack one. Which one is more worthy of an MS type set? Both have cartwheel luster that is hard to show in the pictures.

I like the 74 better but that color would likely turn in an album. The 76 is a better album candidate to me

I voted for the '76 based solely on Liberty's head.

I'm no fan of toning so it's the 76 for me

I'm with the un-toned crowd. 76.

By a LOONNGG shot, the 76.. That 74 IMHO is a weaker coin and is already on its way to "Fade to Black", toning is too splotchy.

the toning it's bad on the 74 but the strike is much better on the 76, plus as mentioned the 74 would be liable to continue toning in the album and become too dark while the 76 may pick up some album toning and become even more attractive (keep an eye on it though in case it begins to tone in an unattractive fashion.)
Rest in Peace

The '76 gets my vote. It's a much better strike and the toning on the '74 is nearing or at final stage based on the images posted.

Thanks everyone. I was leaning towards the 76 because of the better strike. Was a tough call for me. Appreciate all the input!

The '76-S for sure. The first one will acquire terminal toning in an album after years. Second one also has better eye appeal IMO.

Voted for the 76 because of the toning on the 74.

I voted the 76-S, it will look much better in an MS type set unless you've got other heavily toned MS coins.

I like the 1874-s but if you are in doubt I would opt for the coin that matches the other
coins in your type set.
