Well Florence is expecting to make landfall here in the Carolina's as a category 4 storm. I live about 90 minutes from the coast and we are supposed to have wind gusts well over 100mph and we could have between 10-20 inches of rain by the time this all moves out. I have a feeling this in not going to end well for a lot of people.

The grocery stores and gas stations are already crazy around here.

Any other North or South Carolinians on CCF?

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Take Shelter. But seriously stay safe and we'll be thinking about you. If you can get a plane go down to the keys and take a vacation. There's some good fishin' down there.

I am upstate, three hours from the coast (I-26). If the eye passes over us to the east we are fine, but to the west we get soaked. Either way it is gonna be windy. Right now the track is in my favour.

Coastal evacuation order has been given. Lots of people coming upstate now and hotels are filling up. If you are asked to leave do not hesitate. Better safe than sorry.

Latest forecast is calling for 110 mph gusts in Raleigh, 130 miles from the coast. Florence is looking like a monster storm. Hope she calms down more than expected. Some areas could see 3 FEET of rain. All we can do is pull in the projectiles and hang on!

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts.

Hope all CCF members and their families are safe. We complain about our weather a lot here in England but we never get anything like this!

To all potentially in the path of this storm, please evacuate. Hearing from you in the future is a lot better than hearing about you.

We are now hearing that this storm could drop anywhere from 20-40 inches of rain. One model shows Florence making landfall on Friday at 8:00am and barely being past Raleigh on Sunday at 8am. (This is normally less than a 2 hour drive). I live right in the middle of Raleigh and the coast. This storm is 400 miles wide. This is going to be a bad one.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers.
