@coinnewcomer1: Very nice Walking Liberty half. It looks like there was some die polishing going on with it too.

Thanks dearborn and appreciate that observation. I am just happy I had the extra money to get a nice uncirculated 1933S.

dearborn - As I have only been collecting coins since late 2019, the world of varieties and errors I opnly know the tip of these vast icebergs. So this die polishing, although not major, would make this WLB a minor variety, such as happens with Morgan dollars? It would make sense that the 1933S would have die polishing on some coins as San Francisco was the only mint producing silver halves in 1933.

@coinnewcomer1: your coin is a very nice example Quote:So this die polishing, although not major, would make this WLB a minor variety, such as happens with Morgan dollars? I'm not by any means an expert on the Morgan or Liberty coins, I would suggest that you also post this coin up in the "US Classic and Colonial Variety and Error Coins" area and post up your picture there for further evaluation. http://goccf.com/f/137

Massive potpourri of stuff from a coin auction British 1860 - 1880 penny set, all are Fair rather than super poor condition and include some rare coins. More in the British acquistions coin thread. It cost just $10 Samoan 1 Tala coin with Captain cook, UNC from 1970 Jersey limited edition £5 coin for Queen Mothers 100th birthday, gold plated. 1929 GB Halfcrown in shined up g VF condition. All these coins cost me a song at a stamp club auction.
